I never write this blog with the idea that anyone actually is listening but my computer. But I suppose that's how cyberspace works. You put it out there and it's there. This blog is that silent listener for me. It's my horrendously underpaid psychiatrist.

Bike Lust

I love my bike. I have no intention of getting a new one. Let's start with that. Even though it is a bit tall for me, a good fifteen years old, and a hand me down from my mother I love it to death. Maybe I will even ride it until it dies. But as my mom also has been known to say, "If you stop looking, you might as well be dead". Now, while I'm pretty sure she was referencing men I think this also applies well to bikes. I love to look. And I don't know why people don't like white bikes because I always think they are so sexy.

My current bike is a silver Marin with maroon handlebars. It's pretty awesome. But I did just se this one online and think about how lovely it was. Apologies to my Marin. I will stay faithful. Sometimes I just like to browse a bit.

To all of the happy hour crazy people in PDX

I cannot always go out to happy hour. Though your wallets seem to be bottomless and your time endless I, on the contrary, seem to have a very light purse and a few spare minutes a day to re-coup before moving onto the next thing (like more work, grocery shopping, laundry, or rehearsal). I go out quite often and am sure everyone has those days where they just need to be at home for a little while. Or is it just me? Have I lost my party?

I'm not sure what the answer is but sometimes (especially when I just worked on a Federal Holiday like today) I just need to take a little time to shave my legs and watch some True Blood and am totally satisfied calling that a good 2 hours well spent.
